3D Hot Air Balloons is one of several available demo versions of the screensavers developed by Blue Substance. You will find this screensaver under the 3D Screensavers category, in the Products section of the Blue Substance Web Site.
3D Hot Air Balloons is a sports style screensaver. It begins with a view as if you were flying over a beautiful and huge landscape, where a lot of colorful hot air balloons were flying around. That’s not all, but you also can change the view to watch as if you were in a balloon’s basket to know how it feels. In that view, you can even rotate your head around. These images are accompanied by sounds of the wind at high altitude creating a very real simulation.
The screensaver includes an inside multi-button configuration dialog. This means that you can access this configuration dialog without closing the screensaver, so the changes you make are showed immediately. The buttons in this dialog are: Play Sound, Show Fog, Show Info, Basket View, Balloon Count (Low, Medium, and High), Custom Balloon, and Save Settings. This last option is not available in the demo. Besides this configuration dialog, you can also access another dialog from the display properties dialog of Windows. This other configuration dialog allows you to set the maximum frame rate for the screensaver, enable/disable preview, and select whether you want to force the screensaver to quit on user action or not.
This screensaver runs on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP but not Vista. It requires, as a minimum, a 3D accelerator card with 16 bit color and DirectX 8.1 or higher. Once you have successfully installed the screensaver in your computer you need to put it to work. To do that, follow the following steps:
1. Click the Start button in Windows.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Control Panel.
4. Double click the Display icon.
5. Select Screen Saver tab.
6. Select “3D Hot Air Balloons”.
7. Click either Preview or Settings.
